The Family Tree

(2020) has been shortlisted for several prizes such as “the Costa First Novel Award, the Portico Prize – awarded to the book that ‘best evokes the spirit of the North of England’ – and the Diverse Book Awards. She was also selected as one of the Women’s Prize for Fiction Futures finalists” (O’Keeffe).

The novel spans a period of nearly twenty-five years (February 1993 to January 2017) and follows a Muslim British-Pakistani family in Bradford, England, consisting of Amjad, a widower, and his two children, Saahil and Zahra.
