Heralded by scholars and community members alike as “The Mother of Us All” (Lutz, “Lenore Keeshig-Tobias” 83), Maria Campbell is first and foremost a Métis community worker and has dedicated her life and work to serving, understanding, and healing her people and her culture. She was born in April 1940, 80 miles Northwest of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, in a small road allowance community1 called Park Valley.
