David Adams Richards was born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, Canada, in 1950. While still in his mid-teens, he decided to become a professional writer, a commitment he has maintained with steadfast determination ever since, producing steadily with sustained high quality in a variety of genres throughout his adult life.
