Mimmo Cuticchio is the most important contemporary exponent of the art of the Cunto (a nineteenth-century theatrical tradition that, making use of a particular narration technique, consists in the oral telling, in installments, of the events of the Paladins of France) and of Opera dei Pupi, declared by Unesco an “Intangible Heritage of Humanity”. Son of a puppeteer and direct heir of the two traditions, he was a profound innovator of both, capable, even today, of bringing new generations of spectators closer to them and guaranteeing them a future.
