Girolamo Cuticchio, born in Palermo on April, 2, 1933, is currently the oldest living Sicilian puppeteer. He learned the art of manipulating and interpreting puppets at a very young age and opened his first theater in 1954. After a period of crisis during which he worked as a lorry driver, he started to work again as a full-time puppeteer in the 1970s, founding the Teatro Arte Cuticchio Company in 1975 and together with his children starting an intense collaboration with the International Puppet Museum in Palermo which lasted until 2004. Today Girolamo has a small theater in the town of Trabia where he occasionally holds shows.
