Although Gloria Anzaldúa often described herself primarily as a fiction writer and poet, her published work crosses multiple genres, ranging from poetry, short stories, and children’s books to autobiographical narratives, interviews, theoretical essays, and multi-genre edited and co-edited collections. She is most highly regarded for her autobiographically-inflected, mixed-genre prose in pieces like
