Steinunn Sigurðardóttir, born in Reykjavík in 1950, is educated in psychology and philosophy. Her literary career spans over half a century, during which she has published numerous books, including poetry collections, novels, short story collections, and non-fiction works. Additionally, she has written plays for radio and television. Steinunn has also worked in program production, translated literature into Icelandic, and taught creative writing in Iceland and abroad.

Steinunn’s works demonstrate her deep insight into human nature and her dazzling storytelling talent. She often plays with language, creating new words, painting unexpected images, and using humour and irony liberally.
