Bestseller List on numerous occasions. He was born in Pasco, Washington on 21 February 1962. The second of the four children of Fred, a railroad brakeman, and Carol, an office manager at a nuclear power plant, Palahniuk is of French, Russian, and Ukrainian ancestry. He grew up with his parents and siblings in a mobile home in nearby Burbank, until his parents separated when he was fourteen.
