Robert Coover’s name is synonymous with “postmodern fiction” and his work has influenced several generations of fiction writers. His stories and novels, such as his Rabelaisian political satire
The Public Burning(1977), are widely taught in universities. Primarily known as a novelist and story writer, Coover has published over twenty works of fiction, most recently
NOIR(2010), and several of his plays have been produced. Coover is also a theorist of possibilities for fiction empowered by new technologies and has taught courses on hypertext fiction, among other writing courses, at Brown University, beginning in 1981.
