The Pilgrim Fathers were a group of 102 colonialists who became known as the Plymouth Colony, and were some of the first permanent settlers of America. Sailing in
The Mayflower, they landed in Massachusetts in 1620, many of them having originally left England for Holland in order to escape religious persecution.
