(1966), a book which reveals the same complete identification with dispossessed originals or strangers as is found in his poems like “Mourning Letter, March 29, 1963” dedicated to the starved miners of Hazard, Kentucky which ends “Oh, go letter,/keep my own misery close to theirs, associate me with no other honor.”

Gunslinger
