Walter Wilson Greg was a bibliographer and editor, best known as one of the founders of the New Bibliography, a movement that defined the practices of textual editing for most of the twentieth century.
He was born on 9 July 1875 in London. His father, William Rathbone Greg, was Comptroller of the Stationery Office and the author of many political essays. His mother Julia was the daughter of James Wilson, who had founded The Economist in 1843.
