Olivia Vázquez Medina
Olivia Vázquez Medina is Associate Professor in Spanish and Fellow of Wadham College at the University of Oxford. She specialises in modern and contemporary Spanish American fiction. Her most recent research is centred on affect, gender, and the environmental humanities, while earlier publications focused on historical fiction, illness, and the body. Her current project investigates how contemporary women writers respond to critical issues of the present –such as environmental degradation, inequality, and gender violence— through novel forms of storytelling. Recent publications include articles on Samanta Schweblin, Mariana Enriquez, Cristina Rivera Garza, Fernanda Trías, and Giovanna Rivero.
