A. Scott Henderson

Dr. A. Scott Henderson (he/him/his) is the William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Education at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina.  He received his Ph.D. in history from the State University of New York at Buffalo.  Prior to his current university appointment, he was a middle-level social studies teacher in Virginia (USA) and an English instructor in Japan. He has published books and articles in the fields of education, U.S. social policy, and LGBTQ+ history. He is also a published author of poetry and short stories.
