Maria O' Sullivan

I completed my BA and MA in French at University College Cork, Ireland before completing a DPhil at the University of Oxford between 2006 and 2010. My doctoral research focused on Roland Barthes’s literary criticism, looking in particular at the early and middle periods of his work. My current research continues my interest in the work of Barthes, and I am particularly interested in notions of time as they develop in his writing and in that of other twentieth century thinkers. I am also interested in contemporary French fiction. I currently teach at University College Cork.
