D. Litt (=PhD) in Latin Literature, Stellenbosch University, 2003. Published one book on the basis of the doctorate: Augustine's Confessions: Communicative Purpose and Audience, Brill 2004. Hve written a number of articles on Manichaeism in Augustine's Confessions, most recently on the Manichaean audience of books 1 to 3 in HTS Theological Studies 69 (2013) and "A Protreptic to a liminal Manichaean at the Centre of Augustine’s Confessions 4."
