Formerly Professor of Enlightenment Studies and Director of the Centre for Eighteenth-Century Studies at Queen's University Belfact. Member of the editorial boards of the Complete Works of Bernardin de Saint-Pierre (Garnier, Paris) and his Correspondence (Electronic Enlightenment, Oxford). Also member of the editorial board of the Complete Works of Voltaire (Voltaire Foundation, Oxford).
