A group of Levellers, radical Parliamentarians who espouse
equality, religious tolerance and extended suffrage, publish a
'Remonstrance of Many Thousand Citizens'. This document, written
mainly by Richard Overton and William Walwyn, proclaims the
sovereignty of the people, and advocates abolition of monarchy and
the House of Lords' power of veto.
