The English Parliament meets, in the third session of what becomes known as the 'Reformation Parliament', sitting until 28th March. It passes an Act (the First Act of Annates) which drastically cuts down the amount of money passed from each English diocese to Rome, and threatens that unless Henry VIII receives his divorce by the end of the year, all such payments will be halted.
