Yasmina Reza (1959-) is a multi-award-winning French playwright who enjoys international success and has gained many prestigious awards since the 1980s, thanks in particular to her most famous play to date, “Art”. She is also known as an actor, stage and film director, novelist and autobiographer. Reza gained her baccalaureate at the young age of sixteen, before studying for a bachelor’s degree in Sociology at the University of Paris at Nanterre. She then attended the renowned Parisian drama school, Jacques Lecoq. Success as an actor was not immediate, so Reza began writing plays which became instant triumphs. She has two children and currently lives in Paris.
